Mission
Statement: The Children's Sunday School
mission is
make the child's faith become living,
conscious and active, by
providing the child with age appropriate faith
formation guided by
biblical faith and the teaching if the
Catholic Church.
Rite of Christian Initiation with Children
prepares preschoolers
through eighth grade for the
Sacrament of the Church and
instruct
them in the scriptures,
traditions and rituals of the
Church. It is the
RCIC's charge to give the children
solid faith foundation that will
sustain them
on their faith journey.
There
is no question of the value and importance of
Sunday morning
classes for children. It is
here our children will not only learn about
Jesus and the teachings of our church, but
will begin to develop a
life-long habit of learning. The lessons
taught in Sunday Church School
will last a life time. Our
staff is a wonderful group of dedicated
volunteers who give their time to share their
love and faith with the children.
Faith
nurtured at a young age stays stronger
throughout life.
Through simple words and fun
activities our youngest students are
provided
with a solid early foundation that brings the
stories and
characters of the Bible to life.
We
are truly excited about this year,
and about
getting to know your children and sharing with
them the
love of Jesus Christ by participating in the liturgy and collecting
food to feed the hungry and providing school
supplies for the
homeless.
Expectations: Adults have to go through a
two year training
program. Attendance is opened to
Children
aged
Pre-school - sixth grade.
Meeting
Time: Classes are held twice
each month 9:30 - 10:45
