                             MEN'S MINISTRY

Personally, it is so life giving to me to see our ministries and organizations look at their mission and focus, and reevaluate what is honestly taking place.  The St. Ailbe Men’s Club looked around (as I have been told) and realized that there are men who call St. Ailbe their Church home; yet the St. Ailbe Men’s Club was not growing proportionally.  They asked rough questions of themselves and realized things had to change, thus the birth of the St. Ailbe Men’s Ministry. On August 7 and August 8. 2004 .the St. Ailbe Men’s Ministry (Formerly known as St. Ailbe Men’s Club) begin anew.  The men of our Church from the youngest to those graced with age gathered as a praying body.

We were blessed with a young man who opened with God’s Word as he eloquently spoke of God's gifts and sharing. Presently he is ministering as a youth minister at his own home Church. We welcomed back Mr. Keith Slaughter to the Church family where he received his spiritual birth. Keith’s vision is to give back what he has received from the people of St. Ailbe.

At our weekend Liturgies we were also blessed with our men who are called to the ministry of Lector, Choir, Usher, Eucharistic minister and Security. At our 11:00 A.M. Liturgy we were highly blessed with the presence of the Knights of St. Peter Claver Men’s Chorus. They sang in magnificent harmony as they hit the high and low notes. Their praise to God was awesome. It was a great time in the Lord. After the 11:00 A. M. Mass there was a cook-out on the Church grounds.

The members of St. Ailbe Men's Ministry commit themselves to the support of the Church as well as the community at large through participation in a variety of spiritual, charitable, educational and social activities.

On the Battlefield for my Lord,

Father John Breslin
