Mission statement:
The St.
Ailbe Senior Housing Ministry purpose
is to
establish a Christian presence and bond with
St Ailbe Church community and the residents of the St. Ailbe
apartments
This Ministry provides transportation
to and from St Ailbe Apartments
for residential seniors to attend weekly Mass
on Saturday or Sunday
at St. Ailbe Church.
A weekly Bible study class is conducted to
enhance Biblical knowledge and understanding
of scripture reading, faith testimonies and prayer
Extra curriculum activities include: Gospel
Feast, ETA Theatre events
and etc.
Expectations: Special training
for individuals interested in teaching
Bible
Study. Volunteers are needed to assist with
senior transportation
Ministry (Must have drivers license and be
over 18 years of age and must have vehicle
insurance).

time: Bible Study - Weekly
Tuesday 6:45 P.M. - 8::00 P.M

The
St. Ailbe Adult Day Services

Mission Statement: The
St. Ailbe Adult Day Services offer social and
Health Related services for the frail elderly
in a structured and protective group setting.
Daytime hours and activities are provided to
address clients strengths and needs
based on individuals care plans, our focus is
to encourage independence and self esteem in
an environment of respect.
The St. Ailbe Adult Day Services
provide care for adults
who need assistance to remain independent. With
our professional staff's support our clients
enjoy: health monitoring, daily exercises,
current event discussions, reminiscing, field
trips, special programs and parties, nutritious
breakfast, lunch and pm snack, increases self
esteem, opportunities for friendships,
improved moods and behavior, devotions, games
for fun and toning, art and craft
projects.
Eligibility: Participation must be
individually assessed to determine that adult
day services are appropriate. Most clients are
over 60 and are experiencing loss of
independence due to health or aging problems.
Applicants must be capable of benefiting from
socialization in a structured, supervised and
group orientated program. They must be capable
of being transported to and from the facility.
Eligibility for financial assistance is determined
by the Illinois Department of aging
guidelines.

COMMUNITY THEATER EVENTS
FOR SENIORS AND ST.
AILBE PARISHIONERS
The
plays and musicals have been
outstanding productions. The
ETA Theater is located at.
7558 S. South Chicago Avenue. ETA
began in April 1971 and is now
recognized as one of Chicago's
leading African American
cultural performing arts
institutions. The building has
a 200-seat theater, a library,
community room and art
gallery, workshop and office
space. Over the years of its
history, ETA
has produced over 150
productions of new works by
Black writers: 98% are world
premieres.
We have a national
treasure smack dab in the
middle of our local community!
A ticket is usually
around the price of a movie.
It is a very rich experience
to enjoy live theater!
