Mission Statement:
The Wedding Ministry lovingly prepares and supports couples in the Liturgical Celebration of Marriage, they are committed to maintaining the grace and sacredness of this most
Holy Sacrament.

The primary function of this Ministry is to assist brides and
grooms in the preparations necessary for their wedding
rehearsal and wedding day.  They contact the bride and groom,
meet with them to go over a general checklist, and offer
suggestions. It is the intention of the Wedding coordinator to try
to keep this special day as Blessed  and see that this day runs as
smoothly as possible. In addition, there is every attempt to made
for the bride and groom, and their families and friends, to feel
welcomed at St. Ailbe Church.

Expectations: Members assist this ministry by continuing to pray
with and for these couples as they make this very special
commitment.

                      Planning A Catholic Wedding

When a couple decides to get married, it is a time of grace
and growth. It is also a time of many details and some anxiety.
The Church desires to help couples prepare themselves to live this
sacrament and to celebrate their marriage with dignity and joy. This preparation is required for all Catholics who intend to get married

The couple should first contact the parish. It is never too early to
plan. Avoid renting a hall or making other commitments until you
have spoken with the priest and confirmed the date, time and place
of the wedding. At the first meeting, the priest will outline the
preparation process, and make sure that the rest of the preparation
will go smoothly. You will be told the Documents Needed for a
Catholic Wedding, Civil requirements, such as a Marriage License-etc.,
Miscellaneous Info such as Pre-Cana and how to register

The Pre-Cana Marriage Preparation Conference is for engaged
couples planning to be married in the Catholic Church and referred
by the priest/deacon or marriage coordinator.

                      Pre-Cana covers seven topics

1. Communication
                      2. Past
                      3. Family Origins
                      4. Sexuality
                      5. Children
                      6. Finances / Family Living

Engaged couples are encouraged to communicate openly with each other in the hope that these discussions will continue with each other long after the completion of the Pre-Cana sessions.
