ST. AILBE AUGUST CHOIR

During the month of August many people from St Ailbe's congregation grace the Church with their voices
.

It has been tradition that the choir has always taken their vacation the month of August. Mrs. Patricia Pike, Director of music felt that if anyone needed spiritual; nourishment from the choir in August, it should be there for them. For if one soul is touched and brought closer to the lord by song, then, truly the choir has done, God our Father's work. Consequently, it was decided that during the month of August as some took vacation, the remaining choir members wouldn't wear robes, this also would make it possible, to extend an invitation to others from the congregation,

There was no prior rehearsing required, just come as you are and sing! sing! sing! People from the congregation, some young and some graced with age enter the choir stand and sang in unison to spread Gods word in song. It always takes a while to realize that these were not the original choir members, because the singing is always so powerful and well performed. How is this magnificent blending of so many unrehearsed voices possible?

It becomes evident that St. Ailbe every August witnesses another miracle! As Father John Breslin says "When you answer God's calling all things are possible! Great things happen! God moves... God touches...God knows... God sends his people to do the work that needs to be done..." Some of the August choir members themselves were so moved that tears rolled down their cheeks. When you answer God's calling all things are possible!

Our August Choir periodically surfaces the sweet harmony and the marvelous voice of Roberta Thomas. Her rendition of "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" always commands a standing ovation ...

We welcome the return of our new singers... maybe... as a permanent part of our choir! We extend a personal invitation for those who join us. We are looking forward to hearing and worshiping with our new singers again! again! and again!
