Welcome into the life of St. Ailbe Church -
                                           "The People of St. Ailbe"
All must take their rightful place in the Church.

"There are many gifts but the same spirit" -- motivating words
that come from God's Word. The song writers expand on
Paul's Word "If You can use anybody Lord you can use me."
and "If you got a song to sing  Sing it all day Long." The
above thoughts have been have been a guiding force to my
spirit lately. In the moments of solitude I am ever mindful
that somewhere between seven to nine hundred people
worship each weekend at St Ailbe Church. Further
reflections allows me to wonder if the 700 or 900 who
attend St. Ailbe have found their rightful place in serving
God. in our Church...
Reflections from Pastor John Breslin 9/1/02

SACRAMENTS
Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation

Baptism: The first of the seven sacraments, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Baptism is the first and chief sacrament of forgiveness of sins because it unites us with Christ, who died for our sins and rose for our justification. Baptism,

Confirmation, and Eucharist constitute the Sacraments of initiation by which a believer receives the remission of original and personal sin, begins a new life in Christ and the Holy Spirit, and is incorporated into the Church, the body of Christ. The rite of Baptism consists in immersing the candidate in water, or pouring water on the head, while pronouncing the invocation of the Most Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit.

Confirmation: One of the Sacraments of Initiation into the Church, together with Baptism and Receiving the Holy Eucharist. Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism by a special outpouring of the gifts of Holy Spirit, which seals or confirms the baptized in union with Christ and the Church.

                                   Baptized

On a Power filled Sunday, nine (9) School age children were Baptized and eight (8) additional children received the Lord in the Eucharist for the very first time.

                 Comments from the Pastor
This past week I experienced another moment of new life at St. Ailbe Church/ Our young people (high School) received the  Sacrament of Confirmation. We joined with several other Catholic Churches to share the sending forth of the Holy Spirit upon our young people.

The commitment that these young people made publicly now will be lived out in the Church and beyond. A big Thank you to all who have worked with these young people, especially Ms. Irene Connor.

Another moment of new life is our soon to be Baptized children, who will be experiencing new life as the water is poured and the spirit is called upon them on Pentecost Sunday at our 8:00 A.M. Mass. It will be a joyful time in the Lord.

On the same day, Pentecost Sunday, at our 11:00 A.M. Mass our children will be receiving the Eucharist for the first time. It is such a blessing to see our children so excited about these sacramental moments. It is such a blessing to see our children so well prepared for this new beginning/new birth.

Thanks to our families and our catechist who work so diligently with our children.

QUOTE

Me a Saint!!!
Bulletin Insert
11/2.02

When we think about the Saints, we think about their heroic deeds and GOD like actions. What we forget is their humanness.
The Saints had their faults too- just like you and me.

So how are we different  from the saints?
We aren't!
We each have our own heroic deeds to do and GOD like actions to perform each day.
As you awaken each morning ask GOD for forgiveness and strength to prepare you for another day of heroic actions, that we all might be HIS living Saints here on earth..
