ST. AILBE CATHOLIC CHURCH

       REVIVAL 2007...
               IT IS NOT OVER

Father John Breslin Father John Judie St Ailbe Men's Choir

The last note for the revival may have been played Tuesday October 2, 2007, yet it is not over. Revival is a good time for us (myself included) individually and as a Church community to take a step back to "BE STILL"  and KNOW THAT HE IS GOD" . We came together to connect with the simple yet profound message "IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS" What a statement! This year we were blessed with the anointed preaching of , Fr. John Judie of Louisville. He read a special poem of power. I believe this poem "Today I Choose" is worth repeating time and time again.  Father Judie is an inspiration and he has enlighten us in the western culture about the great needs of a people in  East Africa who live in poverty.  Many individuals have begun to respond to some of these needs already, thus enabling Fr. Judie to provide assistance to the people  with  Clothing, Education, Clergy Support, and Formation.

  Today I Choose Love..
No occasion justifies hatred; no injustice warrants bitterness. Today I will love God and all that God loves

Today I Choose Joy...
I will invite my God to be the God of circumstance. I will refuse the temptations to be cynical... the tool of the lazy thinker. I will refuse to see people as anything less than human beings, created by God. I will refuse to see any problem as anything less than an opportunity to see God at work in it.

Today I Choose Peace...
I will live the life of the forgiven... and I will keep on forgiving, so that I may keep on living.

Today I Choose Patience...
I will overlook the inconveniences of the world... instead of cursing the one who takes my place. I will invite that person to do so. Instead of grumbling about the one who jumps in front of me. I will step back and invite them to come ahead of me. Rather than complain that the wait is too long, I will thank God for a few free moments to pray. Instead of clenching my teeth at new assignments. I will thank God that I am blessed with a job- and accept the changes with courage and joy.

Today I Choose Kindness...
I will be kind to the poor, for many of them are alone. I will be kind to the rich, for many of them are afraid. I will be kind, for this is how God treats me.

Today I Choose Goodness...
I will go without a dollar before before I take one dishonestly. I will be overlooked before I will dare to boast. I choose goodness because bringing forth the goodness in me will manifest the greatness in God

Today I Choose Faithfulness...
Today, I will keep my promises. My debtors will not have to regret their trust. My associates will not have to question my word. My spouse will not have to question my love. My children will never have to fear that I will not come home.

Today I Choose Gentleness....
Realizing that nothing is won by force, I choose to be gentle. If I raise my voice may it be only to praise. If I clench my fist, may it be in prayer. If I make a demand, may it be only of myself.

Today I Choose Self-Control...
I recognize the fact that I am a spiritual being. After this body is dead I know my spirit will soar. I refuse therefore to let what will not rule the eternal. i choose self control. If I get drunk it will only be with joy of the Lord. When I become impassioned it will be only because of the depth of my faith. I will be influenced only by the Spirit of God. I will be taught only by the Word made flesh. I will be fed only by the grace of God. I will be nourished only through the power of prayer, I choose self-control-because self control on my part means that God is in charge on his part.

Today! This day-and every day! I choose to live for God-to live in Christ! I choose to let the Holy Spirit live in me! Today! I Choose!

On the Battlefield for my Lord,
Father John Breslin
