GOD'S CHILDREN FOR ADULTS
ST. AILBE CHURCH CHICAGO VIRTUS TRAINING SESSION was held October 15, 2004, Friday 7:00 P.M. ARCHDIOCESE OF CHICAGO LAUNCHES NEW COVENANT TO PROTECT CHILDREN. The Office for the Protection of Children and Youth has been established; Archdiocesan-wide screening and training in prevention of child sex abuse has begun. "Protecting God's Children" policies are being implemented in every parish across the country. "Protecting God's Children" is VIRTUS Training, a "best practices programs" designed to help prevent "wrong doing" and promote "right doing" within religious organizations. Thank you in advance for your help and cooperation. "Protecting God's Children" involves knowing who is working with the youth in our care and also maintaining a safe environment for our youth. The VIRTUS programs empower organizations and people to better control risk and improve the lives of all those who interact with the Church. KNOWING WHO IS WORKING WITH THE YOUTH IN OUR CARE . . . Each volunteer must fill out the IL DCFS Authorization for Background Check Form. ARCHDIOCESE OF CHICAGO Who has to attend the training? All volunteers, staff, and teachers of Saint Ailbe Church and School are required to attend the training before they can interact with children. We are relying on all Catechetical and Ministry Leaders to comply with this high priority initiative We want to thank you for the time that you give to our parish community and especially your commitment to the youth of our parish. |
